Akito Nishiuchi examines the ROK’s establishment of a larger and more capable navy that operates today not only around Korea, but also in troubled regions abroad. He proceeds with an analysis of the relevance between alliance management and Korea’s new naval strategy.
Akito Nishiuchi is a second-year student at SAIS, concentrating in Strategic Studies. He is currently on leave from his work at the Ministry of Defense, Japan as a civilian policy official. He graduated from Tokyo University’s Department of Law in 2004, where he majored in political science.
